Mary was one of my favorite colleagues ever. Her wit, her care, and her willingness to help were second to none. My heart goes out to her family and her friends, like me, who will miss her profoundly.

I have many memories of Mary: from the time I met her at Notre Dame where we studied electrical engineering, the time we lived in Massachusetts and I brought Anthony to teach him to skate on the pond next to her Westford home, the time she visited with Reggie and me at the Bounty Hunter in Napa, the time I was able to stop by her Portland home when I was traveling on business, to the last time I saw her at The Ramp restaurant on the bay in San Francisco.
One of the funny stories I recall is when a large group of us drove from Notre Dame to Chicago on a long weekend and slept in on the floor in the basement of my parents home. My Mother was so concerned and protective of Mary because she was the only "girl" sleeping with all those "boys".
Mary, you are forever in my memory and so are one of the things that make me who I am.

We are so sad to hear about our dear friend Mary's passing. Her Wahkeena Chapter DAR friends kept her in our prayers and hearts. She gave it a very good fight and she is gone too soon. We will miss her and her great smile.

I am very sorry for your loss, Pete. You're both wonderful people, and you made a wonderful couple.
I’m sorry for my loss, as I had hoped that she and I would be able to spend some time visiting and getting to know each other better, beyond our discussions of family and nostalgia.
I’m sorry for the animals of Oregon, because they lost a passionate lover and protector.
I loved Mary very much. While the lord works in mysterious ways, I have to figure this one out. She deserved a more time. After years of supporting and caring for (and often managing) both her mother and brother in Florida for so long, she deserved more time to live her own healthy life.
I always loved the idea of traveling every summer, as she & Pete did. I’m sure the list of places that they visited is lengthy, but it is also not as long as they had hoped. My family was fortunate enough to spend some time with them on one of those trips, to Costa Rica for my brother's wedding. Some pics are above, from our zip line tour through the jungles and our sunset sailboat excursion.
Rest well, and rest in peace.

The Marsh family is so saddened by Mary's passing. We lived on opposite coasts so we never saw you enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent when you were passing through. We have wonderful pictures the good times, most recently when we had dinner at Foxwoods. My goodness how time flies and becomes so precious. Sincere condolences and best wishes to Peter and the family. You are always in our prayers.

There will be another angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight
It's not my place to question
Only God knows why
I'm just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight
You always made my troubles feel so small
And you were always there to catch me when I'd fall
In a world where heroes come and go
Well God just took the only one I know
So I'll hold you as close as I can
Longing for the day, when I see your face again
But until…
There will be another angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight
It's not my place to question
Only God knows why
I'm just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight
You always made my troubles feel so small

Pete,
I had the rare distinction of being Mary’s first college roommate when we met at 17. I would “break her in” for all other roommates and you Pete! Gosh those first 2 months at Stonehill were rough and rumor has it we split the room down the middle with duct tape. Despite that, Mar came to my hometown for Thanksgiving break and Mom won her over! I’d wind up visiting Clematis Place where she made me fresh squeezed OJ. She helped me pass Philosophy 101. Her intellect intimidated me and my being 6’ tall intimidated her. Dad and Mary shared birthdays and she was always sending cards. I opened my mailbox in 1984 to find she sent me her bridal bouquet from your wedding!!! Despite all of us moving all over the US, we maintained our friendship to the very end. MCM was thoughtful and had a better memory than CMC. You both always made time for me and my family when you came back East. You guys never missed our kid’s birthdays. I have so many memories —but the loss of Mary hurts to my core. I’ll miss my friend’s calls and emails. In our last call she cried talking about her love for you and her worry for you. She was blessed in having you as her husband. It hurts so much Pete. Rock and the kids send our love.
