Obituary of Inge Cacilie Franke

5-5-1930 to 5-10-2021

She was a ray of sunshine and so happy to be with her family everywhere we went together. Born in Flensburg Germany she experienced WWII by sheltering in the basement of her school hoping the bombs didn't make a direct hit.  Helping out her family by working in the farm fields in Denmark, where she was paid with potatoes and vegetables so her family could have the food that many others had to stand in long lines for.  After the war, at the town dances, she met her husband Manfred Franke. He was a tool and die maker who sought a better life for them and their two daughters Monika and Renate.  They immigrated bravely to a new country, America, and lived in Connecticut for ten years.  Icy cold winters made them brave again and they all relocated to San Diego, CA. Sunshine almost all the time.  Their son Max was born but eleven years later mom bravely divorced dad and began her own life with Max.  Seventeen years later Inge's only granddaughter Lia was born to Monika and her husband Kent in Oregon.  This time Oma Inge bravely moved north to Oregon.  Here she remained with her loving family until she passed.  Alaska, Canada, Oregon, Washington and Oahu Hawaii (Rainbow Tower Resort) were her favorite places to be.  Her favorite past times were; swimming, reading historical and biographical books, flower gardening, playing slots at the Casinos, putting together puzzles, watching Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, Odd Couple, Godfather, Jaws, and Ice Road Truckers over, and over, and over.

We will ALL miss you Mom, Oma, Inge.
