Obituary of Lois Ann Bain

Lois Ann (Fisher) Bain: Dec 24, 1931 - Nov 18, 2020

 

Lois Ann Bain, age 88, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her family, due to complications from heart disease.

 

Lois was born in Oregon City, Oregon to Eric and Hattie Fisher. She was the 3rd of 4 children, Betty, Gloria, Lois, and Donna. She was married in 1949 to Bob Struloeff and they had four children: Lorraine, Faye, Mark, Leslie.  Bob and Lois divorced 13 years later.

 

Lois married Lonnie Bain 1974 and was blessed with two step kids, Cathy and Randy, whom she loved as her own.  Lois had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren. Lois was always so proud of her family and loved any excuse to have everyone over.  She always loved a good party.

 

Lois was known for being a hard worker and a born entrepreneur. She worked in a local bakery for over 30 years, ran a foster care home, helped on the farm, grew a beautiful garden, and she and her daughters started and operated the Historic Broetje House for over 25 years.  Lois always loved dreaming of new ways to make money.

 

Lois always loved to be surrounded by her family and friends by hosting many gatherings and poker parties, all while wearing her iconic red lipstick.  Her home was always full of joy, love, and good food.  Her door was always open to anyone and everyone and people were always dropping by to be a part of it.  She had a passion for gardening and flowers which was obvious by her gorgeous flowers and landscape that surrounded her home and business. She will be remembered as a hard worker, for her kind and loving heart, generous nature, and joyful disposition.  

 

A private graveside service will be held on June 5th, 2021, lunch and a Celebration of Life following.

 

Donations can be made to Providence Hospice as they were an integral part of her care over the past year.
