Obituary of Michael William Parks
Michael William Parks, loving father to Gary Parks, son of William Parks and brother to Bonnie Koon, has passed away peacefully in his sleep. Formerly residing in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, Michael was an avid photographer, computer technician, salesman, teacher, collector of movies, motorcyclist and student of life.
In the 1980s, Michael was married to fellow photographer and computer geek Alison Parks, mother to Gary. Following this, he was married to Audrey Beth in the 1990s.
When Michael was a child, he loved to explore the wilderness and search for relics of the pioneer days. He shared a special bond with his sister Bonnie, who he would never hesitate to defend from danger.
In his youth, Michael was a free thinking and rebellious member of the counter culture who never backed down to bullies, adopting the nickname "Johnny Pissoff." He passed this mentality on to his son Gary, in addition to a love for nature, motorcycles, Eastern philosophy, swords, spicy food, board games and computer wizardry.
Later in life, Michael was provided in-home care by Gary, warm-hearted caregiver Paula, and the very excellent Providence Hospital Hospice team.
