Hello, My name is Michelle James.
My sister, Teri Schultz was Ralphs great friend and companion for over 20 years!
Ralph spent these years as a valued part of our family. He came to every holiday gathering (With a Wonderful Pie) and a great smile and appreciation for being welcomed into Teri's life. He spent many wonderful vacations with us also!...The Best had to be in Maui with snorkeling and trips out dolphin and Whale watching! Luas & Drinks where a bonus to the fun we had!!!!
He built amazing cabinets and did many wood working projects for Lee & Shirley Pine (Teri & I parents) They where so grateful and thrilled with his work!
My heart so goes out to my sister who I truly believe that Ralph was her Soulmate(Even though they kept separate homes)All these years!
To all the Batties family and friends. I know that your pain and loss is great! My Prayers are with you!
.....Ralph was not just a GOOD MAN.....He was a GREAT MAN! And will be dearly missed.
GOD BLESS
Michelle and Family

My deepest sympathy to you all, he was a great man. He always welcomed me with open arms. He had an amazing smile and was a great cook! Every time I would sp by while up there visiting he would offer me what he was cooking and fill me in on whatever the latest sci fi movie was all about. A gentle soul, he made my skin a beautiful wooden chest that he will have forever......RIP Ralph.

I was sad to hear the passing of Ralph. He worked for the WSDOT for many years and I was his supervisor for many of those years. When I would call him out at night in the middle of a storm he would always come in. I could always count on him. He would always tell me he couldn't fix this or that but he always did, probably didn't want to. He would always bring in a big box of cherries every year to share with the crew (besides the peach cobbler). He got along great with everyone. Not sure he had a mean bone in his body. Most of all he was my friend.
