Obituary of Harold Adrian DeMooy Jr
Harold Adrian DeMooy JR was born on 10-11-1949 to Harold A. DeMooy SR. and Jane Durand DeMooy in Aurora, Colorado. Growing up in Aurora Harold was an Eagle Scout, participated in the Presbyterian Church Choir, wrestled in high school and played in the marching band. He graduated from Central High School in Aurora, completed 2 years at the Colorado School of Mines and graduated from Metropolitan College in Denver with a Master’s degree in Math. He worked at the Denver Water Department for 37 plus years.
He was married two times first to Beverly Everett and then married Wanda Ford. He was a good step-father to Steve Ford and Joseph Ford.
Harold retired from the Denver Water Department to move to Portland, Oregon in 2012 for his health as he had been diagnosed as having alpha-1 Anti-antitrypsin deficiency in 2005 which had affected his lungs (emphysema) and in 2020 he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver which took his life.
His passion was golf, making golf clubs and karaoke as much as possible. Harold loved to talk and never met a stranger. Harold and Wanda spent a lot of time traveling and enjoying each other.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arnold DeMooy. He is survived by his wife, Wanda DeMooy, of Gresham, OR; stepson, Steven Ford of Gresham, OR; and stepson, Joseph (Jen) Ford of Black Hawk, CO, step-granddaughter, Makenzie Ford of Wyoming, mother-in-law, Cathy Lambert of Siloam Springs, AR, and brother-in-laws, Gene Ford of Scottsdale, AZ; Kenny (Karen) Lambert of Siloam Springs, Ar; Rodney (Sarah) Lambert of Winton, CA, Billy (Rose) Miller of Siloam Springs, AR and sister-in-law, Donna Lambert of Siloam Springs, AR. The rest of his family consisted of an aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
