Obituary of Curtis Alan Holberton

Curtis Alan Holberton passed away on November 14th 2020 at the age of 63. He was born in
Medford, Oregon to George Holberton and Barbara “Holberton” Aulbach.
Curtis spent the first few years growing up in Medford, Oregon before moving to Portland ,
Oregon in 1961 were he attended Portland Public School. When he was 12 years old his family moved
to Chapman (Scappoose), Oregon. Where he graduated from Scappoose High School in 1975. In 1976
he married his high school sweetheart Andrea D. Kincaid. He loved going hunting and fishing. He
called Columbia County home until 2018.
Curtis loved the Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) breed. When he was 12 years old, he used his
newspaper route money to buy his first Sheltie “Roydons Davy Jones”. He had a strong love for
“Shelties” that over the years he raised 9 Shelties in toltal and at his passing “Mistybrooks
Northwestern” (Sig), was his buddy.
Curtis followed his passion as a welder. In 1977 he joined the Boiler Makers Union were, he
completed his apprenticeship program. This was the start of his career as a welder. He worked many
types of welding jobs in and out of the shipyards over the years. He repaired ships, built train cars and
barges. His loyalty and love was building barges at “Zidell Marine” in Portland Oregon.
Curtis was a active member of the “St. Helens Lions Club” for over 41 years. Over those years
he served as 2-time President, 2-time Secretary and Zone Chairman for several years. He also is a
“Melvin Jones Fellow” award recipient.
Curtis is survived by his wife; Patrica Holberton of Milwaukie, Oregon, mother; Barbara
Aulbach of Milwaukie, Oregon, father; George Holberton of Medford, Oregon, brothers; Rodney
(Melinda) Holberton of Milwaukie, Oregon, Corey (Maria) Aulbach of El Paso, Texas, and Anthony
Aulbach of Temecula, California, sons; Timothy (Clair) Holberton of Portland, Oregon Andrew
(Carrie) of Hillsboro, Oregon, stepdaughters; Angie (Eric) Montagut of Beaverton, Oregon, Maria
(Tony) Montagut of Happy Valley, Oregon; grandchildren Abigail and Austin Holberton. Along with
numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Curtis was proceeded in death by his wife Andrea Holberton of 41 year and stepdad Everett
Aulbach.

The family is planning on having a “Celebration of Life” for Curtis in Spring of 2021
