Obituary of Belinda Lund
Belinda Jo Lund
Belinda Jo Lund was born on May 6, 1957, in Fosston, MN to parents Robert (Red) Lund and Barbara Lund. She grew up in Erskine, MN, graduating from Erskine High School in 1975. She attended Lutheran Brethren Bible College in Fergus Falls, MN, and Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN.
In 1981 Belinda moved to Reno, NV to live near family. In Reno, she was employed in Home Health Care and loved helping the many elderly people she met. In 1993 she moved to Helena, MT to again be close to family. She worked for the State of Montana, General Mail Services Division, and later Guaranteed Student Loan, helping students with financial aid. In 2008 she relocated to Salem, OR, and was employed at Chemeketa College, Financial Aid Services, until 2018.
Belinda enjoyed living close to her siblings and nephews, playing golf, and doing woodworking projects using her carpentry tools and creative imagination.
Belinda passed away in Salem OR on November 13, 2020, after a long battle with lung cancer. She wanted everyone to know that in 1977 she asked Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and that she is now happy, healthy, and at rest in her eternal home with God. She wrote, “Do not grieve for me for I am where I’ve waited to be for such a long time.” Her hope was that others will consider where they will spend eternity, realizing that going to heaven is not based upon being a “good person” but instead that salvation is only through a personal relationship with Jesus. 2 Timothy 4:18 “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Belinda is survived by her siblings, Twila Elenbaas (David) of Franklin, TN, Robert Lund of Keizer, OR, Chad Swanson (Chrissy) of Colorado Springs, CO, a niece, Sarah Lund of Spokane, WA, nephews Jesse Lund of Gladstone, OR, and Matthew Elenbaas of Franklin, TN, Aunt Mavis Watnemo of Fosston, MN, as well as numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Gary Wayne, her grandparents, and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at a later time in MN. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Cancer Support Services, Salem Health Foundation, PO Box 14001, Salem, OR 97309.
