Every year on August 1st my brother sent a birthday greeting to me. Even when we hadn't talked for months and months, he remembered. Today, we'll honor his memory by remembering his birthday, December 6, 1958. Thanks for the love, brother Dave!

I first met him at Grandma's party in her backyard. I know he is my cousin I couldn't keep my eyes off of him he was cute anyway I'm really sorry for your loss and I remember when he came down and at my mom's and he cook some bruschetti and he had wine and cooked a nice meal for us and it was a good visit cuz we actually got to know him and met his son Christopher as well. I did learn more about him when he was talking about his book. One of the main things that I think about what he said while he was here is that family is so important getting to know them and staying close family kids knowing who their parents are. sorry for you losing your brother. I will. Cherish memories in my heart about your brother. He came to visit because I believed he really wanted his son to know the family.

Whether you knew him as David, Dave, Brother Dave, or just Davey this was a man whose presence could not be ignored.
Though his adult life was worldly, his family was always there in the background, awed by his audacity! Maybe even with a bit of jealousy at times.
He wasn’t a flawless man, just a man. A traveler faced with inner struggles not unlike the rest of us humans.
I’ll forever miss the incredible wit, charm, and optimism of my little brother Davey.

David was as a brother friend and man the kindest to me of all ever. I can't remember a bad time between us ever. He included me in so much of his life. I'm gonna miss the heck out of him. I always wanted a big brother, took me too long to realize he was right there..
More than anyone or him will know i will miss him...

It was such an incredibly hard road these last few years...... I am so relieved for you but grieving at my loss of you. The pain is gone, the worries are gone. Your one request of God, that you live long enough to raise your son, to see him become a man.....fulfilled. Rest in Peace Brother David. Hearts are breaking today.

Christopher, so sorry to hear about David, your Dad.
I never really saw much of him, we were seldom in the same town or state, but the few times I did he left me with a lasting impression of him as a big man, hard working, always moving with a new Deal in the works, and smiling.
I always lamented over the years not being closer to and knowing him better.
A true Wheelin-Dealin Rolling Stone..... Your cousin, Joe Hannickel
My condolences, too, Christopher, we miss him so. Aunt Shugar
