Heidi Dierdre Beth Windsor-Haney / Megan Elizabeth Haney
April 25, 1989 – September 19, 2020
Heidi was born in Portland, Ore., growing up in Milwaukie. She attended and graduated from Milwaukie Montessori, Christ the King Catholic School, La Salle High School and Evergreen State College with a BA in Liberal Arts. She was a graduate of AmeriCorps, with 10 months of service between high school and college. She loved her time with AmeriCorps meeting new people and helping to rebuild the communities in Biloxi, Miss. and New Orleans, La., affected by Hurricane Katrina. After college she felt a longing to move to Arizona to be near the culture and area of Sedona, before returning back to Portland, Ore., in 2017.
Heidi enjoyed traveling. Some of her travel growing up included trips to Disneyland, Hawaii, exploring the East Coast, Mexico, Belize, and more. During high school she visited Paris with her best friend, Hillary. She often took time to visit many of the people she became friends with through AmeriCorps and college. Heidi had a big spirit and made friends wherever she visited and lived, welcoming them into her heart and life.
She was a lifelong learner and in her words “my intention is to live from my heart and assist in cultivating a healthy community on all levels.” Heidi had a growing curiosity in alternative health care systems, various practices of healing the body, mind, spirit, and a love of metaphysics. Many types of healers came into her path of developing higher consciousness and sustainable living with whom she studied. Some of her accomplishments include; The Gift of the Tao Qigong, Reiki Master Certified, advanced Yoga training, Vortexes of Sedona, and more. Heidi enjoyed studying crystals, fairy realms, drumming, circling, and the health benefits of a life connected to Mother Earth. The most favorite role she had in life was being an aunt to her nieces.
Heidi is survived by her parents, David and Corinne Haney of Milwaukie, grandmother, Dorothy Anderson of Portland, siblings, Crystal of San Jose, CA., Sean and his wife, Katrina of Milwaukie, Nicolas of Milwaukie, and birth sister Marianne Latham of Raleigh, N.C. She is also survived by her nieces, Melanie and Kylee Haney of Milwaukie, Chloe and Sage Latham of Raleigh, N.C., and childhood friend, Hillary Pinkston.
Her sister Crystal wrote these beautiful words about her:
She was a bright star in my universe
The void left in my night sky with her passing
Will never ever be filled again
Consolation is found in knowing that we are all made of stardust
The spark that was her essence returns to the ether
The ashes of her body will absorb into the earth
Fostering new life in a cycle yet to come
And living on in the memories of all those she touched
But for now we must deal with an emptiness new
And weep
Weep
Due to Covid-19 there will be no public service at this time.
