Obituary of Elizabeth Louise Peel

Elizabeth Louise Peel was born on August 23 1920 in Chicago, Illinois and died on September 3rd 2020 at 7 pm in Hillsboro, Oregon.

She lived in Illinois for 52 years. During that time she met her 1st husband Charles Trocke in 1941. On July 4th1950 she was baptized in Chicago as 1 of Jehovahs Witnesses. Her and Charles were married 11 years. He was a fireman for Chicago and sadly was injured during a fire and lost his life on June 8th 1952. She was left with 2 kids and 9 months pregnant with their 3rd child.   2 years later on December 3rd 1954 she Married her 2nd husband Jim Peel. They had 3 more kids and eventually moved to Florida for about 6 years until they had their Log cabin built in Franklin NC in 1978.That was her favorite house. They wanted to live out their lives together in it. Sadly Jim passed away Dec of 1981. They were married 27 years . In 1991 her daughter, Linda and her granddaughter, April moved in with her. She used the wood stove in the Log cabin for the main heating. She always kept herself strong, hauling wood and doing lots of yard work in all her houses. They moved out to Chloride AZ in 1996. She never missed meetings, assemblys or service with her friends and family . Her favorite song was "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize." Her main goals in life were to live to be 100 like her grandmother did and to see the great tribulation. She loved singing Frank Sinatra songs, "Unforgettable" being her favorite. And she loved dancing. On Aug 2005 she made 1 last move up to Oregon to be near her granddaughter, April. April lived with her grandmother from age 7 until she was 19 and married. She made April and her husband promise to stay living next door until she died. June of 2007 she had a heart attack and was in the ICU for days, but that didn't keep her down; she came back stronger and continued to live life. In 2008 her son Charles brought his family up to visit in Oregon. They took Elizabeth to Bend, Oregon for a week. Her son still talks about walking in on seeing his mom trying to teach his 3 year old granddaughter how to do a handstand! She was doing them with her. Mind you Elizabeth was almost 89 at the time! At 99 she was still kicking her leg over her head. When she would go to the ER she would show the Dr's and nurses how she could do it and they would stare in amazement. On Dec 24, 2010 she had an Aorta dissection. It dissected from the top of her heart into her leg. She had a 2 percent chance of living and was sent home on hospice. 6 months later hospice discharged her because she recovered and was taking walks everyday and doing yard work. She kept saying I'm not dying!!.  She made dinner every night until she was about 98 and was always helping babysit her great grandchildren, Kimberly and Kaelyn all the time with her daughter Linda.. In 2020 slowly her dementia was getting worse and she became very deaf. She became so weak she could hardly swallow, she ended up in the hospital. A little over 2 weeks later she was transferred to a nursing home on hospice. That night she held her daughter, Linda's hand and her granddaughter, April's hand at the same time and squeezed them and said I love you and that she would see us tomorrow. Her voice was so faint and she could barely get the words out. She never spoke again. And 2 days later she was gone on Sep 3rd. She will be remembered as a great friend, mom, wife and grandmother with a funny personality.
