Adrienne “Denise” Teifel, 65, of Salem, Oregon, lost her battle with cancer on August 23, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.

Denise was born in Vallejo, California to Robert and Audrey Reed on May 22, 1955. She went to school in Concord, California. She graduated from Clayton Valley High School. Denise married Bruce S. Teifel on December 7, 1985, in Walnut Creek, California. She worked as an Executive Assistant for Veterans Services in Placerville, California. Most recently, Denise returned to school and became a Phlebotomist working as an independent contractor. While working in this field, Denise met Melanie Scheiderich who became a close friend and confidant. Melanie went on to work for Hospicecare of the Northwest and then became Denises’ hospice nurse guiding her and loving her until her passing.

After retiring from the medical field, Denise felt drawn to foster care. Denise and Bruce provided foster care for teenage girls. Two of the youth in Denise and Bruce’s care still kept in touch. Monica and Destiny quickly became part of the family

She loved crafting, sewing, and making jewelry. Denise had an amazing sense of humor and could entertain every person she came into contact with.

Denise is preceded in death by her mother Audrey Reed.

Denise is survived by her husband, Bruce S. Teifel of Salem, Oregon. Children Aaron S. Teifel and his wife Malynda of Albany, Oregon. Daughter Shannon M. Bussell and her husband John also of Albany, Oregon. Daughter Tiffany A. Lambert and her husband Todd of Gresham, Oregon. Denise “Meme” was blessed with 7 grandchildren. Colton & Julie Rice of Gresham, Oregon. Ashlee Lambert of Gresham, Oregon. Aaron, Camron, & Jacob Teifel of Albany, Oregon. Joseph Bly of Albany, Oregon. She truly treated everyone like family. Whether the grandchildren were biological, step, or adopted, you would never know because she beamed when the discussion turned to her grandkids. She is also survived by her parents Robert and Linda Reed of Santa Barbara, California, and her sister Deanne Reed of Conyers, Georgia.
