Obituary of Sally Cheryl Lister
It is with great sadness that the family of Sally Cheryl Lister has to announce her passing. She died peacefully in Portland, Oregon on May 8th, 2020, at the age of 67.
Sally was born to parents Marjorie and Roy Tibbetts on August 2nd 1943 in Danville, Illinois. Later, she moved to Portland, Oregon to create a life with her husband Joseph Lister, and children Mike and Cheryl. She started as a nurse, and later became a dedicated librarian for years at a Brooklyn elementary school, retiring as a librarian.
Sally Lister was a loving, generous, witty, and kind woman with a huge heart. She adopted and raised her 2 grandkids, and was known as “grandma” to many of their friends and others. She was always willing to help anyone in anyway that she could. She loved reading, socializing, knitting, and going to the beach! She enjoyed painting rocks and gardening as well.
Sally is survived by her children, Mike and Cheryl Lister. Grandchildren Crystal and Steven Lister. Siblings, Roy, Jim, Mike, Nedra and Mickey. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lister, sister Linda, and grandson Michael Lister.
