Obituary of Lee and Nancy Corning

Couple together in life - and death.

Delford (Lee) Lemoyne Corning and Nancy Ann Marie Corning were an example of what a marriage can be. They married on January 12, 1951 when Lee was 19 and Nancy was 17.   They were meant to be together.  They were happily married for 69 years and they passed away within 3 days of each other.  The day after Nancy passed away Lee was overheard saying “Ok Nancy I’m coming, wait a minute I’ll be there”.

Nancy was a kind hearted woman who had a passion for winning at card games, especially pinochle. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona.  Nancy was born January 5, 1934 and passed away April 12, 2020.

Lee was farmer who raised dairy cattle and was a machinist.  He loved taking care of the land.  There was nothing Lee couldn’t fix or build.  He had a great sense of humor. Lee also loved challenging Nancy at pinochle.  He was born February 16, 1931 and followed Nancy April 15, 2020.

Nancy and Lee had five children who were their pride and joy.  They have 14 grandchildren and 18.5 great grandchildren. 

They are survived by Jeff Corning, wife Debbie & two children Russ Corning & Andrea (Ruben) Presler ; Dennis Corning & his three children Angie (Marvin) Noble, Tonya (Jeff) Roerig, Douglas (Nicha) Corning; Kathy White, husband Claude & six children- Aaron (Dora) Meiggs, Heidi Meiggs,  Rudy White, Cody (Margret) White, Toby (Victoria) White, Dwight (Hollee) White ; Mike Corning; Tara Hestand, husband Jeff, & three children Zach, Chase, & Ryan.  They leave 18.5 great grandchildren.  In addition Nancy is survived by two sisters; Jackie (Ed) Lund & Wendy (Gary) Gray.

They will be placed to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Gates Oregon at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America or a Dementia/Alzheimer’s foundation in their names.
