Obituary of James DeWilde
H. James “Jim” DeWilde passed away peacefully at his Portland home on February 22, 2020. He was a proud 5th generation Portlander and Korean War Navy veteran.
Jim was born on February 9, 1937, to Harold J. and Virginia May DeWilde. He attended Mount Tabor and Washington High School, class of 1954.
Following high school he proudly served in the Navy, and was grateful for the excellent care he received as a Navy Veteran. Jim loved to travel, and his career as a Federal Grain inspector with the US Department of Agriculture took him to many cities throughout the US. Along with travel, Jim loved golf and was a member of the Reserve Golf Club.
Survivors include a sister, Eileen Ashpole, brother in law Charles Ashpole; nephews Charles Scott Ashpole and Ronald James Ashpole, niece Shelley Kristen Ashpole-Jones, and many beloved family members.
Private inurnment will be held at the Eastwood Cemetery in Medford, Oregon.
