Obituary of William B. Groth
Bill was born in Portland Oregon to Clause and Barbara Groth. He graduated from Grant High School and went on to follow in his father’s footsteps by working for Pacific Power and Light (PP and L) where he worked as a computer programmer. Bill met his future wife Rosalie ‘Rosie’ Beam downtown where they worked in the same building. Bill and Rosie were married in 1960. They built their family home in Happy Valley where they raised their 3 children and both of them lived until each of them passed. They were married 56 years at the time of Rosie’s passing in 2016. Their favorite place to visit was Cannon Beach. Which is where Bill had many fond memories of spending time as a kid with his parents and brother Rob. After Rosie’s passing, Bill’s cat ‘Kitty’ moved in and ruled the roost. Bill was truly blessed by the friendships he had with his neighbor’s and the kindness that they bestowed upon him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Clause and Barbara Groth; brother Rob; wife Rosie; and youngest son Scott. He is survived by daughter Suzanne Leitz; son Roger; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of a service, a family and friends gathering will be held at Suzanne’s house on Saturday, February 29th at 4:00 pm. Please call Crown Memorial Center Milwaukie for details.
