Obituary of David O'Donnell
David R. O’Donnell, 63, of Newport, OR, teacher, coach and mentor died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020.
He was born to parents Daniel & Marie O’Donnell on September 8th, 1956 in Portland, OR. David graduated from Waldport High School in 1974 and went on to receive a teaching degree from Western Oregon University (Oregon College of Education at the time) before completing his Masters at Oregon State University. He coached a variety of men’s and women’s athletics in both Salem/Keizer and Lincoln County School Districts for over 25 years.
David was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Marie and his daughter Lauren. He is survived by his wife Anna O’Donnell, children Dustin (Ariday) O’Donnell and Morgan (Mark) Iliyn, step-daughters Gena Warren and Felicia Martinez, siblings Colleen Pompel, Daniel O’Donnell Jr. and Tim O’Donnell and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at South Beach Church on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at 1:00pm.
