Obituary of Kathleen Ann Dowell

Kathleen Ann Dowell, of Milwaukie, passed away at her home on December 21, 2009, at the age of 65. The Sacramento, California, native was born on February 20, 1944, to Joseph and Mildred Reddington. Kathleen resided in California until she graduated from high school; at that time, she moved to the Portland area and married John Dowell. The couple had three children together: Terri, Joseph, and John, Jr. Kathleen was described as the “rock” of the family in addition to being an incredibly loving mother and grandmother. She was a selfless person who always put others before herself; even when she was sick, Kathleen made her family members’ needs her number one priority. She loved her work in the food service industry, and for many years, she enjoyed spending her free time camping and doing other outdoor activities. She was also an avid bowler and a part of a bowling league for quite some time. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Kathleen is survived by her husband, John Dowell; daughter, Terri Lee Estes; and sons, Joseph David Dowell and John Edward Dowell, Jr. She also leaves behind 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and three great-grandchildren with another one on the way. A private service will be held at a later date for close friends and family. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
