Obituary of Pastor Troy La Verne Costlow
8/27/26 – 12/10/09 Pastor Troy La Verne Costlow of Milwaukie passed away on December 10, 2009. Born in Henderson County, Texas to Walter & Leona (Woodard) Costlow, Pastor Troy came from a hardy stock of people who farmed the land. He fought in the army in WWII, married his honey, Mary Davis, and became a devoted evangelist. He and Mary settled in Eugene, OR for a while where he was the leader of a church, but he spent a good amount of time on the road; evangelism was his passion. There are many pictures documenting him in front of country churches all over the United States. For fun, Pastor Troy was an avid golfer; his golfing partner and buddy was Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. He was a kind and good to people; he visited lots of folks when they were unable to get around or were ill. He especially loved his wife of 67 years, preferring to call her ”My Mary” over anything else. Pastor Troy is survived by his spouse. A memorial service has been held.
