Obituary of Peter M. Hager

Peter passed away April 20, 2012 at the age of 89. He was a resident at River Valley Landing Assisted Living in Tualatin for the past four plus years. Peter was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, being one of ten children of Katherine and Jacob Hager. He was orphaned by age thirteen and lived with various relatives until he joined the CCC’s after high school. He was in the Navy for four years during WWII serving as a Gunners Mate on several Merchant Marine ships in many war zones. He was a 50 year member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Unions, retiring as the Western States Director of Organizing. He enjoyed playing golf at the Tualatin Country Club as a member for over 30 years, also pheasant hunting, deep sea fishing, playing cards and working in his beautiful garden. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorraine; sons Richard and Steven; sister’s Marie and Helen; step-sisters Theresa and Rosie; four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. He will be interred in a columbarium at Willamette National Cemetery after a private family service.
