Obituary of Shirley M. Woods
Shirley M. Woods, 69, of Salem passed away April 24, 2012, at Community Home Hospice surrounded by her loving family. On January 12, 1990 she married Jack Woods, he survives her at home. She enjoyed spending time with family; gardening, and cooking; trip’s to the beach, shopping, taking care of her grandchildren, and her beloved cocker spaniels Zoe and Charlie.
She is survived by her husband; father, Donald Doughton; daughter, Kellie Zubrod; daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Nate Cooley; son and daughter- in-law, Arnie and Jennifer Engle; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jill Doughton; Grandchildren, Dylan Congrove, Logan and Skylar Nelson, Taylor Goodell, Mason Zubrod, and Autumn and Emily Engle; nieces, a nephew and several close friends she loved like family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Doughton.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at Hilltop Cemetery, Corvallis Hwy, Independence, Oregon 97351. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held immediately following at the family home. Viewing will be held Thursday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 pm, at Crown Memorial, 412 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, Oregon. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Shirley’s name to Community Home Hospice Care Center at 1035 11th Ave, Longview, WA 98632. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Salem.
