Obituary of Ernest H. East
Ernie died April 10, 2012 in Tigard, Oregon. He was born in South Bend, Washington to Robert and Hilda East. He married Gladys Johnsen (also of South Bend) on June 27, 1934. She died May 1998. Ernie worked as a logger until 1946, when he moved his family to Portland to work for A.W. Davis Supply until 1985. He loved his family, friends, cards and playing golf.
He is survived by his daughters, Arline Toates of Tidewater, Oregon and Elizabeth Campbell of Tigard, his grandchildren James Brethauer (Laurie), Julie Brethauer and Greg Toates (Stephanie), three great-grandsons, Dustin Brethauer, Lucas Johnston and Noah Thomforde-Toates.
He will be sorely missed by many additional nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. No service will be held at this time, per his wishes. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice. Alternative Burial and Cremation of Oregon.
