Obituary of Eldon James Kennon

Eldon Kennon passed away at the age of 77 on April 7th, 2012 in Portland, OR. Born March 25th, 1935 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, he attended public schooling there until his graduation from high school. A member of the Oklahoma National Guard, he moved to Oregon in 1959. He worked as a bridge builder for Union Pacific Railroad, and loved fishing, hunting & camping. He was a member of Northwest Steelherders, and had performed camp host duties for the Forest Service. Eldon is survived by his sons, Wade Kennon of Homer, LA and Mark Kennon of Blackwell, OK, and by his daughters Krista (Ken) DeMacon of Oregon City and Marilyn Sue (David) Poston of Enid, OK. He is also survived by his companion, Betty Hubert of Gresham, OR. He is further survived by his brother Jim Kennon of Gladstone, OR, and by his sisters Janell Childers of Moore, OK, Janice Rutledge of Flora, IL, Joyce Tiemann of Blackwell, OK, Connie Yourdon of Blackwell, OK and Myrta Stager of Pearland, TX. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene, and by his parents Lewis & Thelma Kennon. A potluck celebration of Eldon's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 in Beavercreek, OR. Contact family for the address. Arrangements by Emily's Cremation & Burial
