Obituary of Morgan Allen Middal

Morgan Middal, lost his battle with cancer on March 27,2012. He was 37 years of age. Morgan was born on May 22, 1974, in Portland Oregon and was the son of Michele Middal. A graduate from Cleveland High School in 1993, he found himself eager to travel. He lived in California for a short portion of his life, then traveled and spent time in Mexico . Traveling to Thailand , he fell in love with the country and began his English teaching career. He taught English to a school of 5th through 7th grade for a total of six years in Sara Buri, a city in Thailand . Morgan also took on the task of opening his own school and named it Speak Easy. He later found a teaching position in Doha , Qatar (the Middle East), and ventured there with hopes of making enough money to bring and raise his family in United States . His stay was cut short when the company that hired him lost their contracts to teach in Qatar , he returned to Thailand after three months. After spending seven years in Thailand , Morgan began to miss his family and friends in the United States . He returned home with his youngest son Dylan in July of 2009. Besides being an English teacher, Morgan had a love for art, enjoyed photography, camping, hiking, going to the beach, making jokes and loved spending time with his family and friends. Morgan was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing his dishes with everyone. He had a great sense of humor and could always get you to laugh. During the summer of 2010 Morgan was injured in a minor accident at his house and upon x ray of his hurt shoulder they found that he had cancer in his right arm. He was diagnosed with Synovial sarcoma and his arm was later amputated above the elbow. Despite that, Morgan coached baseball, soccer, and basketball because he wanted to spend time with Dylan, and he wanted Dylan involved with sports. Morgan was a devoted father to his children, wonderful son, dear brother and uncle and will forever be in our hearts. He will always be cherished and with us. He leaves behind his much loved sons, Alex and Dylan, his mother, Michele, sister, Myla, brother in law, Peter, nieces Kyra and Alena, nephew Khai and many loving friends. Morgan’s celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday May 19 at 4525 SE 75th Portland , OR 97206.
