Obituary of Irene Stevens
Our beloved mother Irene Stevens passed away on Jan.8, 2012 at her home in West Linn, Oregon. Mom was born Irene Marie Belinski on April 29, 1922 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to George Peter Belinski and Anna Strempel. She was the only girl in the family, having three brothers, John, Robert (Bobby), and Herman (Scott). She was married twice and had a son and daughter. She worked for Laykin et Cie in Los Angeles for 27 years, retiring in 1986 but kept just as busy with her involvement in the senior clubs at St. Charles, St. Francis and Our Lady of Grace churches in the San Fernando Valley where she made many deep and lasting friendships. She was a fun-loving person who was ready to go anywhere at the drop of a hat. She was known as “Ma” to many of her children’s friends and loved visiting with them. She never complained even when her health deteriorated. She is survived by her two children Charlene and Les, brothers John and Scott, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and so many dear friends. We will miss her always but our cherished memories of her will be with us forever.
