Obituary of Norman LeRoy Clark

Norm passed away at home on Christmas night, surrounded by his family. He was born in Ephrata, WA to Harry Marion Clark, Sr., and Mabel Ruth Hendricks Zeits. His father died when Norm was an infant. They were living in Pt. Townsend, WA. His mother later met and married Robert Clester of Eagle Creek while he was in the Army during WWII. Along with his big brother Harry, they started their new life in Eagle Creek where he attended local schools, graduating from Estacada Union High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Elma Jean Shoup in 1956. They were married for 55 years and had 2 sons. Norm joined the Army in 1956 and retired after 23 years. He served in Viet Nam, Korea, Germany and Greenland. Norm is survived by his wife Elma, son Norman Jr. (and his wife Stephanie), 2 grandsons; Stephen (and his wife Angela) and Scott, and two granddaughters; Sarah Young (and her husband Steve) and Stacy Clark. He is preceded in death by his son Mark, his parents Mabel and Harry, step father Robert and brother Harry Jr. A private service has been held. He was laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery.
