Obituary of Richard Sverid
Richard Sverid born August 13 1930 died December 31 2011Richard Sverid passed away peacefully in his sleep on New Years Eve in his home after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darline, daughter's Cindy Coe and Holly Scott, and grand-daughters, Lauren and Chelsea. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where his sister Catherine still lives, Richard moved to Los Angeles, CA in the 1950's where he met his wife. The Sverids moved to Tigard in 1969 and have been residents of Tigard for 42 years.
Richard worked as an inventory manager at ACME tools and later F and M plumbing supplies. He enjoyed bowling, golf and collecting stamp covers and coins. The family has been members of Tigard United Methodist Church for 40 years. A private, family service was held at Crescent Grove Cemetary on January 5th. The family has reqested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
