Obituary of Ralph Wilbert Wilde

Ralph was born in Palo Alto, California on July 2, 1926 and passed away on December 20, 2011 in Oregon. Survivors inlcude his daughter Sharon Perez and her husband Joe and their 3 boys, daughter Carol Maahs and her husband Norberto and their 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren, son Charles Wilde and his wife Dayna, daughter Norma Rengler and her husband Phil and their son, 2 daughters and their fiances. Ralph also leaves behind many, many, many friends in the United States and Brazil. Rev. Ralph Wilde was married to Barbara Wilde for 60 years until her passing in 2008. They were a team! Not only serving as pastor and his wife, but as piano, organ and accordion player and soprano singer. Ralph wrote 260 hymns and songs in his lifetime. Rev. Ralph and Barbara were missionaries in Brazil for 13 years. Their children Sharon, Carol, Chuck and Norma got their educations in Portuguese. Ralph was a professor (with 4 master’s degrees!) at the seminary in Anápolis, Goiás. In the States he served as pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Churches until they united with the United Methodist Church. He served churches in Hood River, OR, Rupert, ID and finally in Parkrose, Portland, OR. Now he is with his beloved Bobbie ready to serve the Lord on a different level. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his for children, their spouses, his 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Rev. Ralph W. Wilde will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery on Wed. December 28th at 3:00pm.
