Francis Lund

Obituary of Francis Allen Lund

As the youngest daughter of Francis Lund I regret to inform you that he has passed away. It was a very sad day in history to lose such a great man. Francis was not only a son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather but a friend to many, for he touched peoples lives in a very special way. Francis was born at home Febuary 22, 1937 in the small town of Starbuck Minnesota where he lived for many years. He was an avid automobile enthusiast. He first learned to work on cars at home with his father by standing on pop cases in the pit. Later as years went by he became a mechanic and later a service manager for Chevrolet but that was just his job no his passion. Almost every night at home he would be working in his garage restoring cars from the ground up. I remember as a child every time you walked in the garage there would be a fender here a door there for he was always working on cars. He collected and restored more cars than most people could amagine. It wasn't only cars he could fix for I always believed Dad could fix anything, other men could never measure up to him for I didn't trust them to fix it right. Francis was survied by his loving wife Janice, three daughters Brenda, Betty and Kathryn, sisters Marilyn and Becky, brother Mark and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two son's Francis Jr. and Bryan Allen, brother Robert, mother Bernadine and father Eldon. He died in the small town of Molalla Oregon at 09:50 am on December 10, 2011 with his wife and youngest daughter at his side. A gravesite service will be held later at Redland Pioneer Cemetery where he will placed next to his son Bryan.
