Roger was born on January 29th, 1941 in Portland, OR to Roy and Lilah (Watson) Reed. He attended Fernwood Elementary and U.S. Grant High School where he was well known for his mischievous sense of humor and his talent on the basketball court. His many jobs included horseshoer and onsite manager of Rose City Village, where he dealt successfully with residents from a wide array of countries, cultures, and beliefs, and was known by all as “ Mr. Roger”. His many loves included books, the Sandy River and the Columbia River Gorge; he also loved animals and had many pets of the years including Chaz the cat and dogs; Strider, Grimm and Nicky. In his last years he was a resident at Portland Health and Rehabilitation, where he was known and loved for his sarcastic wit and many stories. He is survived by daughters; Jacqueline, Christine and Michelle, and grandsons; Sofian, Colin and Donovan. We would like to thank the staff of Portland Health & Rehabilitation for the excellent care they gave Dad, and the medical team at Portland Adventist Medical Center both for their efforts in Dad’s behalf and for their kindness. He will be much missed.
