Colin, it's been 10-1/2 years since you died, and more than a year since your sister died. You would have been 37 years old today. We miss and love you both so very much. We hope you are together now and we'll all be together someday again. Love forever, Dad

Colin, I wish that I could have known you longer and better. You made my life better, if even for a short time. You introduced me to friends that I would have never known; you brought up ideas in conversation that I would have never thought of; you brought me to places I would have never gone. You are loved and missed greatly.

Colin, You had an unbelievable talent to make people laugh and a creativity to the way you looked at the world that many people didn't understand. Your moral compass was not only seen in the way that you looked at the world politically, but was also clearly evident to all you had relationships with. I will forever cherish our time together in ASB class at Lakeridge and the time we spent our freshman year at college. Rest in peace brother.

Colin, I am so shocked you are no longer with us-I still can't believe it and will have a very difficult time coming to grips with you not being around anymore- you were such a unique and wonderful friend, so jolly and laid back - never taking life too seriously- that is what I loved about you - the times we spent when we first met at age 8 as young kids and the fact that we got to reconnect these last 3 years and share many fun and special times I will be forever grateful for and we are all so lucky to have had you in our lives for the time you were here with us buddy

Colin, from the early days of skating with all the boys, to riding at hood and on to Spanish class at UO, you brightened the room around you with intelligence, humor and wit. My thoughts go out to Colins family. I was able to see him ski on the mountain play his guitar and try and surf behind our boat. Rest in peace Colin and you will me greatly missed, and I will be thinking about you on the hill.

Dear Colin, I don't know why you're gone now. I don't know why it has to be when you're so young. I can't understand why this has happened to you. To you, of all people... you have such innocence about you. You have the purest heart of anyone I've ever met. I mean that entirely, without circumstance. You had my back in such an effortless way. Most of all, you always stood up for what you believed in without thinking twice of how it would make anyone react, or of how it might make people think of you. I saw you. I saw the core that you laid out in the most free way, the most open way. I saw all the beauty that you had to offer. You didn't even have to try, Colin. Your presence was an enriching addition that I was always so happy to get to experience. I meant it when I said I love everything you say. I meant it when I told you how unique I thought you were. I really saw you. I want you to know that. More than that, I want everyone to know what an amazing person you were. I'm trying hard not to focus on the sad parts.. the parts that say you're gone. I want to celebrate you, your life, who you were. I love you. I loved you from the day I met you. You were wholesome, pure, real, of substance, genuine, kind, not to mention just hilarious. I'm so sorry that you're gone. I hate that you're gone. It doesn't feel real. Colin, know that people love you. Please know. We hold you in such high regard. And you've set the bar very high when it comes to quality friends. I will miss you dearly, and you will live on inside me and I know inside others forever. I mean it. Forever. Wu-Tang 2007 bra.

Didn't know you very well at all, Colin. It sounds like you lived a great life for what cards you were dealt. Mental illness is terrible. It's difficult in many ways and so hard to overcome. It sounds like your perspective was beautifully unique. Reading all these things about you makes me somewhat angry... many good people suffer throughout their lives... it is so unfair but it is what gives them perspective and makes them so compassionate. Thank you for touching so many lives and accomplishing more than most anyone I have ever met. I'm sorry I couldn't have made you a new and close friend... we weren't given the time for such. But knowing these little things about you and feeling sorrow because of your death has given me more perspective to learn for. Congratulations on all you achieved. RIP.

We Ellisons were all fond of Colin. He was such a considerate guy, and he was a great skier. I remember trying to keep up with him and Kirk one day at Skibowl but I had to let them go. He had one of the finest powder runs I saw that day between upper Dogleg and the Upper lift, just soaring through the woods. I took a couple of photos of him jumping off a cliff. He landed on a rock, seriously damaging his ski, but he didn’t have a fit about it at all. He just chalked it up to experience. He was mellow like that.

I miss you terribly and think of you often. I’ve been feeling upset that I didn’t talk to you more after I left. I worry about the day when I return to Portland and won’t be able to hang out with you. I almost called you for thanksgiving and for some reason didn’t. I’m not sure if time heals all wounds, because I’m still extremely sad that you’re gone. I do cherish every moment we had together and all the memories we had. I remember the first time we met was several days before you left to study in Argentina. Before you left to study abroad I made you an awesome card and we shared a black and mild. I just miss you and as the post above state’s “ How can you be gone when I see you and feel you everywhere†feels true for me. Yet life is not the same without you,I miss you.
