Obituary of Dianne Sue Eledge

Dianne Sue Eledge passed in peace on April 14, 2019 in Portland, Oregon.She was born on December 14, 1942 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Leslie and Alice (Dietz) Stohlmann. Dianne was passionate about teaching kids to read and earned degrees in Education from the University of Nebraska – Omaha and the University of South Florida. She taught for over 30 years in Florida at Our Redeemer Lutheran School, Shady Hills Elementary, and Dr. Mary Giella Elementary and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma international society for women educators. Dianne was named Teacher of the Year in 1979-80 by the Pasco Classroom Teacher Association. She retired from teaching in 2001 and moved to Denver, Colorado and later Portland, Oregon to be closer to family. Dianne loved hosting gatherings with family and friends and playing cards after dinner. She enjoyed playing tennis and power-walking through the neighborhood with friends. She loved mystery novels and shows, and was a big fan of Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot, Murder She Wrote, and House MD. Dianne is survived by her son Joel Eledge, daughter Jenna Miller, granddaughters Elizabeth and Isabela Miller, and sisters Karen Leu and Laurel Sutton. Dianne will be forever loved and remembered by family and friends as a devoted mother, inspiring educator, and member of Zion, Holy Trinity, Christ Our Redeemer, and Cross of Christ Lutheran churches.
