Regardless how George was doing he would smile & make a joke because he knew it put a smile on people's faces. We will never forget George and his love for people, family, nature, and laughter. Leona, Please accept our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and family and friends who grew up and met him over the years. Our outings with Ken and Dick were the best times growing up in Baker City. Our mini-reunions were very special. We received subject from Mary Ann Thomas a few days ago and learned about his Altzheimer's disease, which my brother who was born in China also succumbed to in 1985. He was 18 years older then me and lived in Seattle at the time of death. I do know the feelings and experience that you have had with George's disease. We're sorry for your loss.

Hello, I just came across page after looking up my name, which also is George Gildersleeve. After reading, I found a couple coincidences, first off my moms name is Allison Gildersleeve. Also, currently I'm attending School of Visual Arts in NYC studying photography, in specific 35mm. I wish your family the best, George seemed like a great man!

George will be missed by his school classmates. Several of us went all through school together from North Baker elementary to Junior High to graduation from high school in 1953. He was always interested in our high school class and attended many reunions. We will miss him.
