Obituary of Betti Gallucci
Betty Jane Gallucci August 25, 1927-November 22, 2021
Betty was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When she was young, she moved with her family to California then to Portland Oregon. She was the youngest of four children. Betty was a graduate of Franklin High School. She is survived by a daughter, son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law with four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty was a successful realtor for 50 + years. She was a lifelong learner, auditing classes at the community colleges and an avid reader.
Betty traveled throughout the world including Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, China, Egypt, Israel, Europe and at least 31 States in the US, always enjoying the sites and museums while staying in youth hostels. She booked her travels around the numerous conferences she attended. She was very thrifty and could have written the book on Traveling for $10 a day.
Betty was a collector, visiting Goodwill and garage sales, always with something in mind she was looking for or someone she knew could use it. Betty had always been a committed volunteer giving back to the community. She collected clothing, bedding, backpacks and many other items that she cleaned, sorted and delivered to various nonprofits such as My Father's heart, five senior centers in the area and other organizations that distribute the donations to at risk populations and people in need.
Betty was a member of numerous organizations including VFW, GFEC, Portland storytelling guild, the okey-dokes square dance and round dance club, the Abernathy Grange Rose City clowns, and the Portland society of magicians. She was a professional clown for 29 years performing as "Betty Boop or Klosset" . (Out of the closet). She lived life on the edge. She was an inspiration to many. She will be greatly missed. We will miss her newsy letters.
