Obituary of Dorothy Blanchard
Dorothy Jean Hays Blanchard passed away on November 5th in the presence of several family members who there to support her as she went to her true “home” in Heaven with Jesus. Dorothy was born on June 21, 1934 in Malvern, Arkansas and moved to Oregon with her family at the age of 4. They lived in both Klamath Falls and Bend, Oregon. She graduated from Bend High School in 1952 and then married her high school sweetheart, Carl V. Blanchard Jr. in 1953.
She spent a majority of her life as a loving Mother and supportive Pastor’s wife. Dorothy was known for being fun loving, a loyal friend, a prayer warrior, feisty, a Godly model of a Christian woman, mentor and studier of the Word of God. She loved God, her family, music, travelling, art, flowers, crossword puzzles, reading, and friendships. Dorothy knew “no strangers” and made connections wherever she went!
She is survived by her husband Carl V. Blanchard Jr., Daughter Brenda (Wayne) Kephart, Daughter Annette (Brian) Robinson, Daughter Diana (Ron) Enkelis, Daughter Karen (Tim) Phillips, Son Bruce Blanchard, Son Joshua (Andrea) Blanchard, sixteen Grandchildren, twenty-two Great Grandchildren, sister Janet Fickel (Arizona) and Virginia Wilkinson (California).
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, 1:00 PM at Southwest Bible Church, 14605 SW Weir Road, Beaverton, Oregon. Donations can be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospital Chaplain Ministry Association (HCMA)
