Celebration of Life Announcement for Damaris Tirado
Someone once said, “Your life is a message to the world, make sure it’s inspiring.” This describes the life of Damaris Tirado. To know Damaris was to be inspired, inspired to be a better, more kind, and happier person.
Damaris was a loving wife to Mark Hester and mother to her son Stephen Lopez and his wife Gaby, and daughter, Tiffany Lopez. Damaris constantly prayed, “Jesus, please take care of my family.” Mark and Damaris had a once-in-a-lifetime love. Recently on a trip home to Alabama, to visit family and friends, she cut her trip short saying, "I'm homesick, I'm going home to my best friend, My Mark." She loved her children and always looked for ways to bring happiness into their lives. To know Damaris was to love her. We are all better for having known her, we lost her way too soon.
Damaris is survived by her parents, mother Benita Suarez, and father, Jose Tirado, three sisters, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends from all over the world.
Damaris loved her family and friends and enjoyed decorating the home she and Mark were making in Salem, Oregon. Cooking for her family and friends was a favorite pastime as she shared her culture of Puerto Rican cuisine with those around her. Traveling and planning the next trip was always on her to-do list. Prior to the death of her mother-in-law Jean Hester, Damaris enjoyed long daily talks on the phone and planning trips for “Momma Jean” to come to visit.
A celebration of life for Damaris will be held on November 27, 2021, at the Annabella at Cedar Glen located at 5264 Rustic Trail, Huntsville, AL 35811. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the Celebration beginning at 5:00 p.m. Damaris loved purple. Family and friends are asked to wear purple since we know this would make her smile. To honor Damaris, always tell those around you of your love for them, and be kind to those around you.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer.
