OBITUARY FOR STAN SCHLACHTER
Stanley H. Schlachter (Stan) passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the age of 76. Stan was born on January 24, 1944 in Clay Center, NE to parents Herbert Schlachter and Laura Ritchie Schlachter. Stan is survived by his wife, Claudia Parkes Schlachter, their children Heather Schlachter Keyhantaj and Kevin Schlachter, Kevin’s wife Renee Owens Schlachter, his sister Yvonne Schlachter Sebastian and husband Richard Sebastian and his four grandchildren Dylan, Logan, Ryann and Tori in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Stan called Holdrege, NE his home and grew up there on the plains of Nebraska. He graduated from Holdrege High School in 1962, attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL for two years and transferred then to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE, graduating in 1966 with a BS in education. Stan then attended Physical Therapy school at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX receiving his Physical Therapy certification in 1968. Stan and his family then moved to Berea, KY for his first job. After 10 years in Kentucky, Stan and his family moved to Carmichael, CA where he opened his first private practice and taught physical therapy at California State University at Sacramento.
In 2019, Stan moved to Tualatin, OR to be closer to his children and grandchildren as his health was failing. He was residing at Farmington Square Tualatin, an assisted living facility, at the time of his death.
